Reads: The Family Fang

The Family FangI first picked up Kevin Wilson’s offbeat “The Family Fang” over the summer but between work, traveling and shenanigans with friends, I was never able to finish the novel in my three weeks allotted by the public library.

Now that I have a little free time I’m finally catching up on my reading and this book was one of the first on my list.

Though Wilson’s tale of the two children, Annie and Buster, of eccentric performance artist parents isn’t what I initially expected, the novel was one of the most unique coming-of-age stories I’ve read in a long time. When their parents go missing, Annie and Buster – convinced their parents’ death is an elaborate performance piece – set out to find them on an adventure that has a truly unexpected ending.
