Winter is slowly descending over the Midwest, which means, among other things, that it’s not as easy for me to get out and explore as it is in the warmer months. So instead, I decided to create a little #throwbackThursday post for one of my favorite, now-defunct roadside oddities.

Stored Potential was a community design project by Emerging Terrain, an Omaha-based nonprofit design and research collaborative, visible along I-80 just was you were heading west out of Omaha. The vibrant 80-foot-tall public art installation was affixed to an out-of-use grain elevator before it was taken down this summer.
