Eats: Round Rock Donuts

Everything is bigger in Texas, right? And near Austin, that includes Round Rock Donuts. As soon as I found out about this larger-than-life donut shop, I knew we’d be making a trip during our visit to try their “Texas-sized” donut.

After navigating a bit of donut-related traffic and waiting in line with other Sunday morning donut lovers, we opted for the chocolate glazed Texas-sized donut (which will cost you $6.99). When our number was finally called, we snagged an outdoor table and asked a friendly couple to snap our photo with our prized pastry.

Round Rock Donuts yellow-orange cake donut lives up to the hype—the donut itself was incredible and the chocolate glaze was sweet without being overly sugary. To be honest though, it took us four days to even come close to finishing this monster donut with three of us taking occasional nibbles.

If you visit Round Rock Donuts

If you stop by this popular place, recommend getting there early—especially if you’re visiting on a weekend. Also, consider parking across the street instead of waiting in a long line to turn into the parking lot. Even if the line is long, we found that it moved pretty quickly and it wasn’t long before sugary goodness was ours.
