After a lot of end-of-semester craziness, graduation shenanigans and some equally wacky weather, it looks like summer has finally arrived in Des Moines. I’m looking forward to an exciting summer, complete with a new job, a soon-to-be new apartment and hopefully a bit of traveling. Stay up to date with my most recent adventures by following Olio in Iowa or checking out my Des Moines to-do list from time to time.
But for now, enjoy a sneak peak at just a few of the adventures I hope to have over the next couple of months:
- Attend a wine tasting at Jasper Winery
- Volunteer at the Animal Rescue League
- Spend an evening on “The Big Yellow Bike”
- See a movie at the Valle Drive-in in Newton
- Fondue night at The Cheese Shop
- Cinema Under the Stars at the Des Moines Science Center
- Tour the Salisbury House
- Spend my lunch hour in the Better Homes & Gardens test garden
- Attend the Des Moines Symphony’s annual Yankee Doodle Pops concert
- Go for a bike ride on the High Trestle Trail
- Enjoy a Beatles Brunch at Cafe di Scala
- Attend a concert as part of the Nitefall on the River concert series
- Explore the Des Moines Art Center
- Grab at drink at Mixology Night at the Des Moines Science Center
