When I was home for Christmas, the latest musical craze from the creators of South Park, “The Book of Mormon,” had just opened on Broadway in Chicago.
While I had heard great things, I didn’t have time to make it to the show while I was in town. So when a friend suggested that we try the ticket lottery at Civic Center of Greater Des Moines during the show’s limited run in Iowa I jumped at the chance.
Generally when it comes to winning contests, being chosen at random or guessing magic numbers I don’t have a ton of luck, but – miracle of miracles – we were the third of ten pairs awarded discounted tickets for the evening.
Fair warning – “The Book of Mormon” is not for the faint of heart or the easily offended but we had a phenomenal time at this witty, hilarious musical.
