I make the trip west on I-80 between Des Moines and Omaha pretty frequently for work, but somehow I’d never stopped to see this roadside oddity.
According to the book Iowa Curiosities, the spider was constructed by Travis and Angela Campbell across the street from their father Darwin’s home, where it still sits today. Use the address below for easiest navigation to this eight-legged automobile.
