I have a thing for old cemeteries. Not in a creepy, morbid way, but I love their intricate carvings and trying to find the oldest headstone.
So on our last drizzly morning in southeast Iowa we headed just up the hill from the bed and breakfast we stayed at to the Bentonsport Cemetery. The cemetery itself is bigger than you’d expect for a community the size of Bentonsport and, if you look hard, you’ll be able to spot the names of the village’s founding families.
